Terms of Use
Last updated: June 1, 2026. By creating an account or using site1.erralert.com and its services (monitoring, Dynamic DNS, and notifications), you agree to these terms.
1. Acceptable use
You may not use the service for anything illegal, immoral, abusive, or for adult content. Content or activity we consider to fall into these categories may be reported to the appropriate authorities and/or removed or disabled at our sole discretion, with or without notice.
- Monitor only what you're allowed to. Only run checks against systems you own or have permission to test. Don't use checks (HTTP, synthetic, TCP port, ping, DNS, etc.) to scan, probe, overload, or attack systems you don't control.
- No abuse of Dynamic DNS. Hostnames must not be used for phishing, malware, botnet command-and-control, spam, or to disguise abusive activity. Names used this way may be removed or reclaimed.
- Don't attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the service or to other users' data.
2. Accounts, credits & limits
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account. We may change the number of credits granted, the cost of checks, and storage or hostname limits, or otherwise limit or restrict accounts at any time — with due notice for changes that materially reduce what your plan provides.
3. Dynamic DNS
Hostnames you create don't expire through inactivity and remain until you delete them; paid accounts' hostnames never expire. We may in future ask free accounts to confirm occasionally (for example, once a year) to keep their hostnames active, and we will email you with reasonable advance notice before introducing any such requirement. We may remove DNS records or reclaim hostnames that violate these terms.
4. Availability & no warranty
The service is provided on a best-effort, "as is" basis. We don't guarantee that monitoring will detect every problem, that alerts will always be delivered or delivered on time, or that DNS will always resolve. Please don't rely on it as the sole safeguard for safety-critical systems.
5. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts, or remove content, that violate these terms or that we reasonably believe are harmful to the service or to others, at our discretion.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from outages, missed or delayed alerts, DNS issues, or your use of (or inability to use) the service.
7. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll give notice of material changes; continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
